Marvel Rivals Season 3.5 Launch: New Blade and Massive Updates
Marvel Rivals Season 3.5 is set to launch soon, and it is expected to bring massive updates that will re-energize ranked play and adjust hero balance, in addition to adding the new hero "Blade". NetEase, the game's developer, has unveiled the full details for Season 3.5, including a comprehensive roadmap outlining upcoming events, new costumes, and anticipated maps and modes. These regular updates have contributed to keeping Marvel Rivals highly ranked among the best PC games since its launch.
The opportunity to experience the new season before its launch was provided, where the character Blade underwent extensive testing in the training ground. Blade is a powerful duelist primarily focused on dealing damage, possessing the ability to parry attacks to reduce incoming damage, a dash strike, a ranged rifle attack, and a katana for close combat. Interestingly, Blade can unleash his ultimate ability using Dracula's Sword, which inflicts immense damage on enemies in a small area and can even be used on flying enemies. Blade will also be added to the "Moon Knight" and "Cloak & Dagger" team, which will enable him to disappear and reposition while remaining invisible to enemies.

Hero Balance and Ranked Mode Changes
Season 3.5 introduces significant adjustments to hero balance, with Star-Lord, Iron Fist, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Groot, Thor, and Adam Warlock receiving buffs. Conversely, changes aimed at weakening certain characters include Black Panther, Wolverine, Magneto, Mantis, and Cloak & Dagger. Spider-Man received a buff to his ultimate ability, increasing his damage per second. As for Wolverine, who dominated matches in Season 3, his ultimate energy has been adjusted and its cost increased, and life drain from his "Primal Flame - Phoenix Warrior Team-up" ability no longer contributes to his ultimate energy.
As for Ranked Mode, Season 3.5 will see fundamental changes, including:
New Rewards: "Emerald Blade" skin for Blade (Gold), new frames for "Diamond" and "Platinum" tiers, and emblems for "Grandmaster," "Eternal," "Celestial," and Top 500 players.
Player Matching: Players in "Bronze," "Silver," and "Gold" tiers can join competitive queues with any team size except five-player teams. Players in "Platinum," "Diamond," and "Grandmaster" tiers can join with up to 3 players. For "Celestial," "Eternity," and "One Above All" tiers, only two-player teams are allowed.
Surrender Activation: In the first round, if a player disconnects and does not reconnect within 90 seconds, the team can vote to surrender. Passing the vote requires one less vote than the current number of team members.
Disconnection Penalty and Compensation: If any player disconnects during loading, the pick/ban phase, hero selection, or within the first 70 seconds of the match, the match is considered invalid. Point adjustments and compensation vary based on the situation.
Miscellaneous: Nameplate frames awarded as rank rewards can now be displayed in more areas.
New costumes will also be available for purchase in the store upon the season's launch, including the "Blade - Polarity Edge," "Blade - Emoji," and "Blade Dynamic Mode" bundles. The season will also feature the launch of the "Queens Codex" event, offering free and premium rewards. Among the free rewards, "The Thing" will finally receive a Symbiote skin, while obtaining "Queen in Black" for Hela and "Phoenix-themed" for Black Widow will require purchasing the premium pass.
The server downtime is expected to last 2-3 hours, and NetEase has adhered to this estimate in the past two seasons. Players hope things proceed according to plan, with updates eagerly awaited for any news of potential delays. Also, the "Guardian Revival" ability will be completely removed from the game in the new season, with new abilities added to Adam Warlock, Star-Lord, and Mantis to enhance their power on the battlefield.
Additionally: Players will be able to get other costumes and rewards through Twitch Drops for Season 3.5, such as the "Will of Galacta" skin for Mantis, by watching live streams of matches for four hours.
