Nissan "Sakura": Extended Range Through Innovative Solar Power
Nissan AO-Solar Extender System: A Revolution in Electric Vehicle Driving
Introduction to the Nissan AO-Solar Extender System
Nissan AO-Solar Extender System
The innovative Nissan AO-Solar Extender system, designed specifically for the Nissan Sakura electric car, is a significant development to enhance electric driving range and reduce reliance on traditional charging stations.
Innovation and Efficiency in Power Generation
Solar Power Generation
Up to 500 Watts
When the system is fully deployed on sunny days.
Additional Annual Driving Range
Up to 3,000 Kilometers
(1,864 miles) of free driving.
AC Power Saving
Lower Cabin Temperature
Thanks to windshield shading.
This innovative system operates with high efficiency whether the electric car is parked or in motion, producing up to 500 watts of solar energy on sunny days when fully deployed. This capability of solar power generation is enough to add approximately 1,864 miles (3,000 kilometers) to the annual driving distance and power many car electrical accessories.
In addition, the extender helps provide shade for the windshield, significantly reducing cabin temperature and lowering the need for air conditioning energy consumption.
Superior Performance and Design
Solar Power Generation Comparison (Watts)
When the solar panel system is folded during driving, it continues to generate 300 watts in sunny conditions and 80 watts even on rainy days, which far exceeds the capacity of solar roofs in cars like the Toyota Prius Prime (185 watts).
Nissan has designed this solar roof with advanced technology to ensure minimal air resistance and aesthetic and functional integration with the elegant design of the Sakura car.
