As part of its efforts: to develop an FDA-approved blood pressure measurement feature, Oura revealed the initiation of a specialized study on blood pressure. This study aims to explore effective ways to identify early indicators of hypertension through continuous monitoring and background vital signs.
After obtaining Institutional Review Board: (IRB) approval, the study is scheduled to launch at the Oura Labs experimental center in the United States this year. Study participants will be informed of a personal assessment regarding their likelihood of developing hypertension, based on data collected by their Oura ring, in addition to information from a questionnaire covering family history, medications, and lifestyle habits. The assessment will include different levels: no signs, moderate signs, or major signs of hypertension.
