US Officials' Data Leak: "The Comey" Reveals Sensitive Information, Igniting Controversy Over Homeland Security Claims

Hack of "The Com": Leak of Data of US Government Officials

A group of hackers, belonging to "The Com" community, known for launching widespread cyberattacks in recent years, have published names and personal information of hundreds of government officials, including individuals working in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). In a message posted Thursday on the "Scattered LAPSUS$ Hunters" Telegram channel, which gathers names of other hacking groups associated with "The Com", a user stated that they are demanding "their money from Mexico". This comment alluded to a previous claim by the Department of Homeland Security that Mexican cartels have begun offering thousands of dollars for publishing personal information of agents. However, the US government has not provided any evidence to support this claim.

"The Com" group is known as an online community comprising individuals from diverse backgrounds, including gamers, hackers, and ordinary users. This group, also referred to as "The Com" or "The Community," has been linked to a series of prominent breaches, including attacks on Las Vegas resorts such as Caesars Entertainment and MGM Resorts, as well as major companies like Okta, Microsoft, Nvidia, Rockstar, and Samsung.
