$30,000 Vanishes from MAGA Donations Targeting Charlie Kirk Critics

Disappearance of the "Expose Charlie's Murderers" Crypto Fundraising Site

The Rise and Fall of the "Expose Charlie's Murderers" Project

The MAGA-aligned website, which urged supporters to fund a database to expose critics of Charlie Kirk, collected tens of thousands of dollars in cryptocurrency before disappearing, angering donors.

The site, named "Expose Charlie’s Murderers," launched hours after the 31-year-old right-wing influencer's assassination in September. It promised to create a searchable collection of names and workplaces for "the biggest discrediting operation in history," according to a Drop Site review of the now-defunct project.

An archived version of charliesmurderers.com showed a promise to create a database of anyone who publicly criticized Charlie Kirk after his death. According to Drop Site News, the site listed six cryptocurrency wallets and raised over $30,000 between September 12 and 14 before repeatedly going offline, then reappearing as the "Charlie Kirk Data Foundation," and subsequently vanishing again.

The group called itself "Anon Palantir" and published 41 entries—screenshots of posts by people who mocked or criticized Kirk—before the project collapsed.

Reactions and Ramifications of the Scam

One MAGA-supporting X user stated, "I want my donation back!" Others expressed their outrage, calling the group "liars" and "scammers."

Targets reported being inundated with threats and complaints at their workplaces. In Oregon, a local school board chair resigned on October 7 after writing that she "would not mourn" Kirk, later telling Drop News about the "frightening and horrific" harassment she received.

Kirk, a prominent influencer in the MAGA movement, died after being shot at an event at Utah Valley University on September 10, sparking a wave of grief among conservatives, far-right conspiracy theories, and inflammatory posts. These posts included claims of amplification by foreign bots and right-wing figures exploiting the killing.

Site Closures and the Money Trail

The Kirk Critic Watchdog Site that targeted Kirk’s critics capitalized on this anger, boasting "63,648 requests," yet published only a few dozen entries before its domains—registered via Namecheap and then Epik—were pulled or dropped due to fake registration data and threats of DDoS attacks, according to Drop Site.

A third site, registered under "Franklin Heard" at a Spokane office building used by several companies, also disappeared. Neither the project nor its listed contacts responded to Drop Site inquiries about the fate of the funds.

Officials called for calm as the investigation into the September 10 shooting incident progressed, warning against vigilante "doxing" campaigns against Kirk's critics. The Daily Beast reached out to the project operators and listed registrants for comment.
