Samsung Z TriFold: Unveiling the Future of Foldable Phones

Expected Launch and Pricing

Samsung Z TriFold: Samsung has officially announced its new flagship phone, the long-awaited foldable device featuring dual-hinge technology. This innovation is set to launch first in South Korea on December 12, with plans for a US release in the first quarter of 2026. Although the official price of the Z TriFold has not yet been revealed, initial forecasts suggest it will be in the luxury category, especially since single-hinge foldable phones cost up to $2,000.
(November 2025) Recent leaks and rumors indicate that the Samsung Z TriFold's price may be lower than initially expected, with estimates ranging between $2,399 and $2,499, after some speculation hinted at a price closer to $3,000.
Innovative Device Screens

The Samsung Z TriFold features a stunning 10-inch internal display diagonally, offering a resolution of 2160 x 1584 pixels and a smooth adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz, with the ability to drop to 1Hz for power saving. This large screen allows users an ultimate multitasking experience, where three applications can run side-by-side vertically.
The screen also supports the Samsung DeX desktop environment in standalone mode, eliminating the need for an additional external monitor. The external screen is designed to be practical and familiar, with a size of 6.5 inches, 1080p resolution, and a 21:9 aspect ratio, similar to that found in the Z Fold 7 phone.
Chassis Design and Thicknesses

The TriFold phone features an innovative panel design with three different thicknesses to enhance its flexibility and functionality. The central panel is the thickest at 4.2mm, housing the main USB-C port on its bottom edge. The thinner panel is 3.9mm and accommodates the physical SIM card tray, while the other panel is 4.0mm thick. These two side panels fold neatly over the central panel when the device is closed.
Dimensions and Weight When Folded

When folded, the TriFold device is 12.9mm thick. This makes it 4.7mm thicker than the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, and thicker than the Z Fold 7, which is 8.9mm thick when folded.
However, it is not far off from the previous Z Fold 6, which was 12.1mm folded. Despite the different folding mechanism, the Z TriFold is very close in size and weight to the Huawei Mate XT phone, weighing 309 grams.
